Welcome! Thank you for expressing an
interest in playing soccer with the Greater Atlanta Women’s Soccer Association
(GAWSA). The league typically consists of 40 teams with four different
levels of play. Our teams play year- round. Games are played on Sundays on
various fields around the metro area. GAWSA is affiliated with the Georgia State Soccer Association (GSSA)
and US Soccer.
Fall Season usually runs from mid-September through late November. Spring Season is from mid-March
until June. Games are played on Sundays. Some teams hold practices, others
don’t. GAWSA is always looking for players and teams who are reliable and
will play soccer games on a regular basis. We also expect that players will
be responsible in notifying their team captain(s) if they are unable to
attend a game. Presently, you are allowed to play on only one GAWSA team at
a time.
We also have Summer and Winter Seasons which are
played with 7-aside rules. These seasons run 6-8 games and are played in
mid-January through February and in late June through mid-August,
respectively. This is a more relaxed atmosphere where you can play on more
than one team.
There is a $25 GSSA
player registration fee which is paid once a year. There is usually another
$35-$60 per player fee to pay for your field and referee fees. Interested
players must fill out the new player form "Sign
me up" to be connected with a team. Once you have found a
team and the captain gives you a player registration code, go online to register and pay
state fees. Then lace up your cleats and get ready for fun,
camaraderie, and a great workout!
