Welcome! Thank you for expressing an
interest in playing soccer with the Greater Atlanta Women’s Soccer
Association (GAWSA). The league presently consists of 38 teams with four
different levels of play. GAWSA operates year round. Games are played on
Sundays on various fields around the metro area. GAWSA is affiliated with
the Georgia Amateur Soccer Association
and US Soccer.
Fall
Season usually runs from mid-September through late November and Spring
Season is from mid-March until June for ten games each. All games will be
played on Sundays. Practices will be held dependent upon your team. We are
looking for players and teams who will be able to play in games on a
regular basis. We also expect that players will be responsible in notifying
their designated person if they are unable to attend a game. You are
allowed to play on one team only.
We
also have Summer and Winter Seasons which are played with 7-aside rules.
These seasons run 6-8 games and are played in mid-January through February
and late June through mid-August, respectively. This is a more relaxed
atmosphere where you can play on more than one team.
There
is a $25 per player registration fee with the Georgia State Soccer
Association which is paid on a yearly basis. There is usually around
another $35 per person to pay for your field and referee fees (you will
have to check with your team, it may be less or more). Interested players
must fill out the new player form "Sign me
up" to be connected with a team. Once you have found a team,
fill out the player registration form.
Players must fill out the enclosed registration form with a picture and
mail it to the address on the form before they can play in the GAWSA
league.
